i haven’t written in a while and now i am back. Well, it was a long time off from writing, but i have suffered emotionally, physically, and mentally during this period of time. I didn’t feel like doing anything for a while. I am finally healed now.

well, it was a series of personal, professional, family, relationship setbacks that put me in a mental coma for couple months, and i do not want to ever experience it again in my life. What it did however was to put me in a new perspective about life. It made me realize how wonder life is even if nothing good is happening as long as nothing bad is happening at the same time. It lowered my expectations in a good way that I am actually starting to enjoying every moment of my life.

It is sad that one has to go through the dark moments to see the value of life, but I am as happy and as fulfilled as ever.

I have not been very good at keeping up with my workout routines, and my body has suffered from it. I recently found out that i have gained at least 15 pounds of fat from eating junk food, not working out, and drinking beer. It was unnoticed at very beginning and i guess after a few months, it just adds up slowly. I thought about eating some diet pills to lose them fat quickly and then get right back into the workout routine. However, after reading horror stories online about the pills, i decided against it. what horror stories you ask? well:

1. not able to sleep because of the 100+ heart rate

2. sweating all the time.

3. shaking uncontrollably because of the lack of sleep and increased heart rate

4. complete loss of appetite and stomach cramp that is extremely uncomfortable.

5. gaining everything right back after stop taking the pills.

After reading this, these of you who are thinking about taking the diet pills will have to give it a second thought. hehe. Well, what i have decided is to take the slower route, which is eating right again and start doing some major cardios daily.

let’s see where everything goes from here. I will update on this blog next month.

losing them fat, my new year resolution!

The graphics is unreal, and the action is amazing, especially the chainsaw, the shotgun. These of you who have played this game know exactly what i am talking about. It was hard to get good at very first because the complicated controlling system, however, once you played enough, addiction becomes an understatement.

The game is taking too much time from me at this point and I really need refrain myself from playing it anytime i get after work. Now i know how these people just die from playing video games for 4 days without stopping.

These of you thinking about buying a xbox, this is one game you must get. LoL

Every man’s dream comes true when he gets to buy the car of his choice one day. Well, my dream finally came true because my hard work finally paid off. My favorite cars goes from good-old american muscle cars such as mustang, corvette; to nice and expensive germany cars such as bmw or audi. It is like a mood swing, changes all the time. I know i am not alone here.

Well, it took me a good 2 months of researching online, researching in stores, testing driving, asking friends, and read magazines. I finally decided on an Audi S4, that’s right, don’t drool. I test drove everything and when it comes down to driving fun, M3 and S4 won hands down, and when it comes down to price, S4 wins. I know M3 is a bit more powerful and the handling is a bit better, but with almost $8000 in price difference, plus my love with Audi, i will pick the S4.

But but but, i haven’t bought it yet. I heard some news about Audi revamping their 4 series next year, and if that is the case, i might choose to wait, just drive my Chrysler truck around for now.

Went to my friend’s house and played some texas hold’em today, we played about 3 tournies and i won one and got second place in two of them. I have to say, i am a conservative player, like dan harrington. I tend to win quite a bit when i play with friends, but whenever i hit the casinos (vegas, ac,etc) I lose a lot. I think it has to do with the environment. I get very very nervous in public gambling places because the stake is high and everyone is so serious. Whereas couple friends get together, shooting the shit, talk about random stuff, joking around, no one is playing like their life is on the line.

Having said that, my dream is to one day play in the world series of poker. $10k buy-in, and a chance to win 10million+, wow!! Every poker player’s dream. You know what, i think getting into the final table at WSOP is like getting to top ten in golf, every time there is someone new. (of course, until tiger came along). So everyone has a chance, even newbies. If i was lucky that 10 days of playing time. Who knows, i might just win it all.

P.S. i am actually just going to be happy if i make it to top 20. LoL

well, it is about time that i got myself a new phone, and i have to tell ya, i love it!! Apple did it again, I never got into the old imacs when i was young, and i wasn’t too fazed by the macbook air, although it is nice! However, i have always wanted to get myself an iphone. Now finally I have the budget to do so, and that’s the first thing I did.

The phone is solid, calling, texting, surfing, everything is done at ease. Just a little bit slow, but it doesn’t hurt me at all. The games, apps collection are amazing, i am not the type of person that tries to get everything free. The developers worked hard for these things, so i don’t mind paying at all.

Well, I am actually so eager to go back and play with my iphone, i will keep this post short, but here are my quick thoughts:

pros:

1. great quality, perfect size

2. very easy to use user interface

3. huge application collection

4. ok battery power

cons:

1. can’t change battery

2. no flash support

3. no multitasking

4. a little bit slow

People love food, it’s our nature. That’s why diet pills, diet plans seldom work. These products prevent people from enjoying one part of life that needs to be enjoyed, that is eating great food. Now, what does eating have to do with being healthy? Many of you might ask. Well, it has everything to do with it. Did you know that you can eat the same amount of calories a day as you used to and not gain any fat? Did you know that you can eat pretty much anything and still be healthy? You might think I am out of my mind, but here is the trick.

Eat your breakfast, you can eat less and less everyday, but if you do not eat your breakfast, you will still gain weight due to the fact that you are not kickstarting your metabolism everyday by having a healthy and filling breakfast.

Eat less every meal but eat more meals, many people eat maybe 3 times a day, sometimes 2, sometimes even one meal a day. These meals tend to be huge and because of the way body works, less meals will cause your body to be hungry many hours during the day, your body will react and start storing fat for anything you eat. However, if you eat more meals, eat less every meal, your metabolism will be consist and little fat will be gathered even if you end up eating more calories after the day

So, enjoy your life, eat whatever that you love, but keep the above two points in mind!

People now days are focused so much on getting a job and work to get their job done. They are beyond stressed and they do not even realize. I recently realize that I am always stressed out. Stress leads to depression, and depression leads to health decline, and other mental and physical illnesses. What can we do to prevent this from happening?

To start off, I tried different kind of therapies to prove that I am not a “workaholic”. Well, if I was, then it would have been tough to change this situation, but I wasn’t, therefore, I started telling myself to treat play time like work as well. I force myself to take dedicated times to play, and whenever I do, I focus on that just like focus on work. In the end, the “nonstress” from playtime pretty much evened out my “stress” from work time. It helped for me, will it help others? I have no idea, but I wouldn’t start off by taking anti-depression pills, or any kind of drugs that’s on the market to prevent depression.

Working out has always been a hobby of mine for the past 10 years. It does not only makes me stronger and healthier, but also gives me joy of relaxation during workout hours. Mixing cardio with weights have shown excellent result over years and dedicating a set number of days a week proven to be important as well.

Many people concentrate too much on going to the gym itself and often give up after not seeing results after a while. First of all, fitness is a long term investment. Short term results can be seen on many people, but there will be mid-term plateaus that preventing people from seeing any changes. Quiting during this period of time is a very bad idea. Second, eating correctly is as important as going to the gym itself. Not eating correctly will negate all at gym efforts. Therefore, if you are not seeing results, it is either you are not dedicating enough time, or not eating correctly.

Last but not least, mixing cardio and weights, don’t just focus on one type of training. I will follow up with some details later.
